When this tool is useful

Prepare one image for many social networks without installing software. Choose a platform preset or custom size, decide whether to fill the frame or fit the whole picture, drag to position the crop, and export JPG, PNG or WebP with adjustable quality.

A practical example

A 4000 × 3000 landscape photo for an Instagram portrait post (1080 × 1350) will be cropped at the sides in Fill mode; drag the preview to keep the subject in frame. For a YouTube channel banner (2560 × 1440), keep text and faces in the centre because the visible area differs between TV, desktop and mobile.

What to keep in mind

Recommended sizes are common guidance and platforms can change them or recompress uploads. Enlarging a small image cannot add detail. The estimated file size is the exact size of the file your browser produced. HEIC photos may not open in every browser; convert them to JPG first.

Common questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, cropping, resizing and encoding all happen in your browser, and nothing is stored.

When can I use a transparent background?

Choose PNG or WebP. JPG cannot store transparency, so the selected background colour is used instead.

Which format should I choose?

JPG is usually smallest for photos, PNG keeps graphics and text sharp without loss, and WebP is small with optional transparency.

How does quality affect the file?

Lower quality reduces file size for JPG and WebP but can add visible artefacts. PNG is always lossless, so the slider does not apply.

Can I make a portrait version of a landscape size?

Yes. Use the Portrait and Landscape buttons to swap width and height, or enter custom dimensions with the aspect ratio locked or unlocked.
